Experience the tranquility of a winter landscape
Winter Hike
Winter Hike
Come and experience the wildlands on a winter hike with our guides. Our foothills and mountains offer an extensive variety of trails accessible year round to challenge all levels of adventurers.
- Grades 4 to 12
Students will be divided into small groups and provided micro-spikes (grippers for their boots) before they head out with their guide on an adventure suited to their ability level.
Along the way, we learn about the ecoregions, habitat and wildlife of the area. Join us for mountain vistas, crisp winter air and the reward that comes from a great adventure.

“Plan for the worst, hope for the best” is the rule to follow when planning what clothing to bring. Use layers to adjust to the air temperature and level at which your body is producing heat. Please avoid jeans and other heavy cotton clothes if at all possible. These absorb water like a sponge and are very cold when wet. Remember to bring warm winter boots, please do not allow students to come with only running shoes. We have a multitude of sizes for micro-spikes. Everyone needs a winter jacket and snow pants. Listed below are required items to bring for the day:
- Day pack
- Winter Jacket
- Garbage-free lunch
- Snow Pants and Winter Boots
- 1 (litre) Water bottle
